Glenn Brown 'Layered Portrait (after Rembrandt) 7' Etching

This etching is number 7 from Glenn Brown's Layered Portraits (after Rembrandt) (2008) series. Taking Rembrandt's portraits as inspiration, Brown scans and digitally manipulates the images, overlaying a number of them to produce a series of printing plates. The plates are printed in combination to create intricate spectral compositions comprising up to fifteen different source images and layered in black ink.
