Glenn Brown 'Bring on the Dancing Horses (after De Gheyn II/Greuze)' Etching

This etching is part of Glenn Brown's Bring on the Dancing Horses (2019) series, published by Paragon Press. Taking portraits by Dutch Golden Age draughtsman Jacques de Gheyn II (1565–1629) and French painter Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725–1805) as inspiration, Brown scans and digitally manipulates the images, overlaying a number of them to produce a series of printing plates. The plates are printed in combination to create intricate spectral compositions comprising up to fifteen different source images and layered in black ink.
